Gradually, Münster emerges from the darkness. Where it was once pitch-black, the bright contours of the city map appear on the round glass pane, positioned over three tealights within a concrete base. What you witness here isn’t about pleasant illumination; rather, it’s the opposite – it’s about light pollution. In line with this, Lucy Xu, Hannah Stöwe, Kaja Funke, and I named our creation irrlicht. Developed over eight weeks for the Budenzauber event, this product is designed to spark a conversation about light pollution. It was sold in limited quantities at the conclusion of the course.
